BRUNDABAN PATHAGAR AND RAJA RAM MOHAN RAY LIBRARY FOUNDATION
The Library of Brundaban Sanskrutik Anusthan known as Brundaban Pathagar was inaugurated on 1st December 2006. The Library-cum- Reading Room is open for the general public, students from different Schools and Colleges. More than 9148 (Nine Thousand One Hundred and Forty Eight) only numbers of books are available in the library for the readers. A number of monthly and weekly journals are subscribed by the library for the reference and benefit of the users. Again, Daily News Papers are also available in the library.
BSA has been receiving books to strengthen the library from the “Orissa Sahitya Academy “since last six years through the “Raja Ram Mohan Ray Library Foundation “{RRRLF), Kolkata.
Reading habit enriches the personality of an individual and adds to the all round development. This noble step of BSA is a stepping-stone for the neo-readers and the elite people of the locality who derive the maximum from this library. This Endeavour of BSA is being highly appreciated by the educated mass and higher authorities.
CULTURAL PROGRAMMES
To promote local folk culture and music BSA has been promoted the rich folk music and dance tradition since last 28 years honestly and dedicatedly. We have been conducting workshops, seminars and training camps. Further to encourage and enrich local talents we have our own dance troupes and have been presenting colourful programmes in the State and National level festivals and functions. BSA has Cultural Troupes to present “Ghumura”, “Dhol Mahuri”, “Bajasaal”, “Rasarkeli”, “Dalkhai”, “Jhumer”, “ Chherchhera “, Maila Jada, SERA RATA & “ Ghanta Badya”. We have affiliated to EZCC, Kolkata and being invited by the State Culture Deptt., Orissa Youth and Sports, Orissa Tourism Dept. and all other agencies to perform at State and national level. This year BSA Troupe had performed Folk Cultural Programme at Varodara on the occasion of “NUAKHAI BHETGHAT” a traditional festival of Odisha. Similarly BSA troupe had performed at Shilparamam, Hyderabad on the occasion of “NATIONAL TRADE FESTIVAL”
